Clerk's Department

The Clerk's Department provides general information on a wide range of public questions and township services. If you have a question about your municipal government you can call the Clerk's Department.

The Clerk's Department provides support to Council, its Boards and Committees, and other Township Departments. This Department interacts with all levels of Government as well as various organizations, associations and businesses.

Provincial Laws

The main role of the Municipal Clerk's Department is directed and explained by Provincial Laws. There are over 40 laws that mention the role of the Clerk. The main ones are:

  • The Municipal Act, 2001;
  • Municipal Elections Act;
  • Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act;
  • Marriage Act;
  • Vital Statistics Act;
