The County of Peterborough and the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen would like to advise the public of an upcoming Public Consultation Meeting that has been scheduled to be held for members of the community to have an opportunity to review and discuss the project and its objectives.
The Project currently being planned is for the Reconstruction of County Road 48, within the Village of Havelock, commencing from County Road 46 (Concession Street), along Ontario Street to Quebec Street, Quebec Street easterly along County Road 48 (George Street) to Mary Street, and south to Highway 7.
Jointly with the above, the Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen has initiated a Master Drainage Plan for the Village of Havelock to assist with long-term planning and identify the areas existing drainage network shortfalls and to develop drainage solutions to address the deficiencies, flood mitigation, public safety, and improved maintenance opportunities.
This project and each of its components are being conducted in accordance with the latest edition of the Municipal Engineers Association Class Environmental Assessment Manual. Public and agency consultation is an important component of the Environmental Assessment process.
The purpose of this first Public Consultation Meeting is to review and showcase the project designs and to provide pertinent information to the area residents and businesses as well as gather input from the stakeholders regarding the project.
An informal, drop in format open house has been scheduled whereby all those interested in the project are invited and encouraged to attend the Open House at the following date and time;
